Kosakivska Iryna

Head of Department of Phytohormonology of Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Graduated from T.G. Shevchenko Kyiv State University, specialty biophysics. Doctor of Biological Sciences. Professor. The thesis is “Physiological and biochemical mechanisms of plant adaptation to stresses”. A well-known researcher in the physiology of stress and adaptation, author of 140 scientific publications, including two monographs. As a result of the studies obtained strong evidence that changes in the biosynthesis of proteins and their enzymatic activity and phytohormones balance are interrelated and interdependent, and physiological and biochemical mechanisms of plant adaptation to stress based on adaptive changes of proteins and phytohormones. Proteins and phytohormones were using as biomarkers in the study of plants with different types of ecological strategies. Prepared one doctor and three Ph. D., has two post-graduate students. Member of the Editorial Board of Ukrainian Botanical Journal. Member of Ukrainian Society of Plant Physiologists and Ukrainian Botanical Society, member of Federation of European Societies of plant biologists. Member of Specialized Scientific Council in National Taras Shevchenko University and Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv).
