Nataliya M. Topchiу

 

Born on November 21, 1977 in Nizhyn city, Chernigiv region. In 2000 she graduated from Mykola Gogol Nizhyn State pedagogical University, specialty – “Pedagogy and methods of secondary education. Biology and chemistry”. In 2000-2005 she studied at the graduate school at the M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2002-2003 she studied at University College London (Great Britain), where she obtained a degree of Master of Science in Radiation Biology. In 2003, she defended the master’s thesis on topic: “Radiation-induced transgenerational instability in mouse somatic tissues” (Leicester, Great Britain). In 2006, she defended the thesis for the degree of Candidate of biological Sciences (PhD equivalent) on the topic “The role of the light-harvesting complex in the adaptation of higher plants to lighting conditions” with the specialty “03.00.04 – biochemistry”. She worked at the Institute of Botany in the Department of Membranology and Phytochemistry as an Engineer of the first category (since 2002), a research associate (since 2005). Since 2022, she is a senior researcher of the Department of Membranology and Phytochemistry.

Scientific interests: photosynthesis, pigment-protein complexes, carbonic anhydrase, pigments, chlorophyll fluorescence.
